As an internal, hillside town, Urbino can be reached only by bus or by car.
If you come by flight, the nearest airports are Bologna, Ancona, Rimini and Forlì. From these cities you can travel to Pesaro by train. If you are landing in Milan, instead, you can travel by train to Pesaro via Bologna. If you are landing in Rome, you can travel either by train to Pesaro or by bus (www.adriabus.eu) departing from Roma Tiburtina. If you are travelling from Rome, take the highway A1 in the direction of E35/Via Salaria. Take the exit Orte E45 in the direction of Perugia. Take the exit Gubbio and follow the old Via Flaminia through Scheggia up to Urbino.
A good alternative if you are coming from Rome is the direct bus connection departing from Roma Tiburtina twice a day. Visit www.adriabus.eu for schedule and prices.
If you are travelling from Florence, drive through Bocca Trabaria up to Urbino.
If you are travelling from Bologna, take the highway A14 in the direction of Ancona. Take the exit Pesaro-Urbino and follow the direction Urbino. It takes about 35 min from the highway exit.
If you are travelling from the south, you can take the exit Fano and follow the direction Urbino. It takes about 40 min to reach Urbino from Fano.
Pesaro and Urbino are connected by a regular daily bus service, line 46. It takes about 45 min from Pesaro to Urbino by bus. The ticket price is 3.70€/person. See www.adriabus.eu for a detailed schedule of line 46. The bus stops both at Mercatale Square and Santa Lucia Park. The easiest way to get to the conference venue is to walk.
Scheduled ferry services link the port of Ancona with Greece, Albania and Croatia. From the port take the train to Pesaro and then take Line 46 bus to reach Urbino..
